22 SEPTEMBER IS WORLD CAR FREE DAY -
a day where cities all over the world encourage residents to spend a day
without using their cars. This year, AA is commemorating Car Free Day with
your support. The Transport sector in Singapore accounts for
about 19% of greenhouse gas emissions. It is estimated that to transport one person,
a car carrying only one driver uses 9 times the amount of energy used by bus.
Help reduce global warming by leaving your car at home for just a day and
take public transport instead. In appreciation of your support, the first 500
members who sign up for AA Car Free Day 2010 will receive four free bus
rides, while non-AA car owners will receive two free bus rides on SBS Transit
buses, thanks to our partner in environmental protection, SBS Transit.

once a week/month >> Carpool with neighbours/colleagues >> Use public transport
where possible >> Choose a hybrid/electric
