16 January 2017 – Automobile Association of Singapore (AA Singapore) will be having a Groundbreaking Ceremony on 21 January 2017 as it redevelops its office at 2 Kung Chong Road. The Groundbreaking Ceremony will be officiated by Guest-of-Honour, Mr K Shanmugam, Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law.

The new seven-storey Kung Chong building is designed to house AA Singapore and its subsidiaries, including Autoswift Recovery Pte Ltd within the same premise. The centralised location will improve overall operational efficiency, strengthening the Association’s presence amongst the public and the motoring community. Sitting on over 2,800 square metres, the new iconic building will offer better exposure for AA Singapore in the automotive cluster at Alexandra and Leng Kee, emphasising our commitment to better serve our members and the motoring community.

The estimated $25 million redevelopment increases the total gross floor area to over 7,000 square metres, and will include green features, contributing to a more sustainable environment.

Mr Bernard Tay, President of AA Singapore said “As one of the oldest established Associations in Singapore, AA Singapore has been serving the interests of the motoring community since 1907. The redevelopment comes timely, marking a new milestone for AA Singapore as we celebrate its 110th anniversary this year. The transformation allows us to cater to the changing motoring and lifestyle needs, and members can look forward to more exciting and value-added services with enhanced membership benefits and privileges.”

The completion date of the revitalised Kung Chong building is targeted for the last quarter of 2018. In the interim, Autoswift Recovery Pte Ltd has been relocated to 10 Kallang Way with no disruption to its existing services.

Reinforcing its position in representing motorists as an active advocate of road safety issues, the Association recently concluded the “I Pledge to be a 5-Star Safe Road User!” campaign, achieving over 2,000 online pledges. With the online pledges received, AA Singapore will be donating a sum of $15,000 to the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (STSPMF).

The cheque presentation to STSPMF will be held in conjunction with the Groundbreaking Ceremony, rounding off a successful completion to the meaningful campaign.
