20 October 2023, Singapore – In light of the recent unfortunate road accidents involving Singaporean drivers abroad, the Automobile Association of Singapore will be organising the Overseas Safe Driving Forum (OSDF) to promote road safety and equip drivers with the necessary skills and knowledge. The OSDF will be held on Saturday, 28 October 2023 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Cassia Junior Ballroom, Level 3. This event is organised in collaboration with the Singapore Road Safety Council (SRSC).

Under the theme of “Prepare Well & Drive with Confidence,” the forum serves as a platform for drivers to gain the essential knowledge and skills necessary for ensuring their safety while driving in foreign countries. The forum aims to enhance drivers’ confidence in managing and navigating diverse driving scenarios and environments, particularly in unfamiliar foreign countries. Participants will also learn about identifying and mitigating potential risks while driving in foreign lands. This includes addressing challenges such as varying weather conditions, unique road infrastructure, and high-risk areas, all of which will help drivers minimise potential dangers.

This year’s Overseas Safe Driving Forum 2023 will feature insights and advice from a panel of experts and road safety professionals from globally recognised organisations based in New Zealand, Netherlands, Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore. These professionals represent esteemed organisations, including the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS), International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP), New Zealand Automobile Association, Japan Automobile Federation (JAF), Thai Ecotourism And Adventure Travel Association (TEATA), AAS Academy and AAS Insurance. In addition to the enriching discussions and presentations, the Forum will also be accompanied by an exhibition in Heliconia Ballroom, Room 3411 – 3413.

The Overseas Safe Driving Forum is open for registration to AA Members and Members of Public. Participants will receive a goodie bag worth $150 and more.
